Matterhorn, Switzerland

Matterhorn, Switzerland

Morning fog partially obscures the iconic peak of the Matterhorn, which famously looms above the Swiss ski village of Zermatt. One of the highest Alpine peaks at 14,692 feet, the mountain was first ascended in 1865. Today it’s a popular destination for climbers, winter sport enthusiasts—and photographers.
